The Graduates is Ryan Gielen's first feature, and the third project produced with his brother, Matthew Gielen. Born and raised in Columbia, Maryland, the filmmaking pair grabbed two other Columbia natives- producers Joshua Davis and Caitlin Marshall- and an army of New York-based young actors, and headed to Ocean City, Maryland to shoot onlocation in the fall of 2007.

The shoot was an incredible feat: an award-winning independent film with over 25 speaking roles, shot over 30 days, for only $95,000 is bound to hit some turbulence. Now you can hear about the increible true story from the people who experienced it first hand. Sex On The Beach: the true story of the turbulent making of the indie cult classic, The Graduates is available on DVD now!

Featuring the music of some incredible indies: The New Rags, Plushgun, Sonia Montez, The Mad Tea Party, Our Daughter's Wedding, and The Smittens, ...

It's important to everyone involved in The Graduates to make the webpage and film accessible. If you want to learn more about the writing of, making of, the festival screenings, and the release of the film, check out  The Blog Ryan Gielen's films have won awards in festivals across the country.
